Örebro Jazz & Beyond arranges professional live music of high artistic quality. We are very curious about what is happening in contemporary musical life, about different expressions that are in time and strive for our program to reflect that. The intention is that our arrangements should give people unique experiences and new perspectives on how music can be performed and sounded.

Through our arrangements, we strengthen independent musicians' opportunities to perform and we believe in the strength of the free musical life. We are very open to collaboration with different parties which leads to us being able to organize to a greater extent and develop, in agreement with our idea.

Name change - from Jazz & Blues to Jazz & Beyond

No one who listens to jazz today can avoid strong influences from hip-hop, world, art music, ambient, techno, folk music and more.

​

"Beyond" represents a view of music that, like an attraction - a movement - constantly creates new fusions of the genre we usually lump together as jazz.

 

Rather, it is the expression of the music and the concern of the stories that form the common core that moves beyond fixed genres.

Jazz Club of the Year 2018

"The club has in an exemplary way turned a downward trend into success through courageous renewal and a clear broadening of the business. On the club's communicative website you can read about the continuous investment in jazz for children and young people, and the club also provides good information via Facebook and Instagram with 600 followers. The huge program selection of 44 concerts is topped off with participation in the Live at Heart festival week. Örebro Jazz & Blues Club is a well-deserved prize winner for "Jazz Club of the Year 2018".
